Peace On The Earth

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

I recently felt inspired to write a song calling for peace and a sense of urgency to release it before Christmas. It is not a Christmas song. It is an angry song about peace, but in a good way.

The call for peace and nonviolence as opposed to violence and war is universal, so there is no political or religious agenda in this video. That said, I am challenged by the words of Jesus: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be known as children of God”. So, I ask myself the question: What can I do to further the cause of peace?

Spread the message of peace. If you resonate with what this song says, share the video freely with your friends.

Break the silence
Confront the madness
Make the voice of reason heard

Crush the hatred
with ruthless kindness
Let your love be the last word

Peace on the Earth
Peace on the Earth

Stop the violence
of cold indifference
Too much goes on that we allow

Pierce the darkness
with fierce compassion
Beat the drum of justice NOW!

Peace on the Earth
Peace on the Earth

Love One Another

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Here is a song I recently wrote for a promotional video for an organization in Seattle called Recovery Cafe. They provide resources and services to help homeless people, a large percentage of which suffer from substance abuse and/or mental health issues. This song is a call to people to reach out to one another. In any circumstance or need we find strength in each other.

Come on, love one another
Help your sister, help your brother
It don’t matter where you’re from
Can’t you see that we’re all one

From the executive in her high rise
To the man down in the street
If you want to make a difference, now
Then move your hands and move your feet

We all can do something
To make the world a better place…

Love one another
Show somebody that you care
Love one another
Let your love shine everywhere

No one is an island
It’s not what we’re supposed to be
We’re meant to lean on each other
And live together in harmony

Come on everybody
The future is in our hands
